About us

OluBusola Akinwumi PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, APRN, BSN

Olubusola “Olu” Akinwumi is a dedicated dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) dedicated to providing compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based care for individuals navigating mental health challenges and life transitions. She has over 10 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Walden University in Minnesota and later completed her post-graduate certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley. Olu’s passion for mental health inspires her to support patients across the lifespan through integrative, person centered approaches that promote holistic healing, balance, and overall well-being. She is dedicated to educating patients about mental health, raising awareness, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. Her areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD/trauma, bipolar disorder, ADHD, Post partum depression, Sleep disorder, Autism management, behavioral challenges, schizophrenia and life transitions.

Outside of her professional work, Olu expresses her creativity through baking and enjoys traveling and exploring new places. She deeply values time spent with family and friends and is committed to uplifting others through community outreach. Her advocacy extends to mission work and local seminars, where she promotes awareness, mindfulness, and self-compassion—especially among underserved populations.
